Women's March demonstrators gather in hundreds of cities

Photos and videos from social media show crowds of thousands gathered in cities such as Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, New York City, and other places across the United States and around the world. The marches are largely critical of the president, with supporters in multiple cities heard yelling anti-Trump slogans while marching. The New York Times also reported marches in Rome, Frankfurt, Germany; Kampala, Uganda and Osaka, Japan. This year's marches have been galvanized by the #MeToo movement, which has exposed sexual misconduct, assault and harassment by men at the highest levels of government, the media and entertainment. Democratic politicians and progressive activists spoke at many marches around the country, including in Washington, D.C., where Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez delivered remarks Saturday afternoon. “Women are the core of our Democratic Party and the leaders in the resistance against President Trump, Vice President Pence, and the R...

Dana White weighs in on Francis Ngannou calling Donald Trump 'the shame of united stste AMERICA

Image
UFC President Dana White and heavyweight title contender  Francis Ngannou  might agree on a lot of things related to fighting but probably not so much on politics, specifically President Donald Trump. According to reports last week, Trump grew frustrated with lawmakers in the Oval Office and derided protection for immigrants from  “sh*thole countries,”  referencing El Salvador, Haiti and African nations. Ngannou, who competes for the heavyweight title vs. Stipe Miocic at UFC 220, was asked this week about those remarks. And in response, Ngannou called Trump “the shame of America.” Via  Twitter : Francis Ngannou is very upset about Donald Trump's reported comments about African countries. Looming federal shutdown would affect local tourism, nonprofits, non

Image
On the eve of a potential government shutdown, the blame game between bitterly divided federal lawmakers continued Friday over legislation to protect about 700,000 younger immigrants from being deported. Democrats in the Senate intend to filibuster a four-week, government-wide funding bill that cleared the House on Thursday evening, seeking to shape a subsequent measure but exposing themselves to charges they are responsible for a looming shutdown. Republicans controlling the narrowly split chamber took up the fight, arguing that Democrats were holding the entire government hostage over demands to protect "Dreamer" immigrants brought to the country illegally as children. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan showed his displeasure with the stalemate through a scathing written statement Friday, saying, "Marylanders are sick and tired of Washington's dysfunctional, insider blame games." "I am calling on all Members of Congress and the Administration ...
